Antonio Berardi Talks to InStyle
Antonio Berardi describes himself as ‘shy, sensitive and determined’, but having spent a civilised tea time with him at the hostpitla club and chatted over a fresh mint tea (post a cigarette on his part), I would add that he’s a foodie, a self-confessed shopaholic and an appreciator of family and women in the way only an Italian man can. Plus, he designs some mighty fine frocks (as vouched for by Victoria Beckham – she’s a huge Antonio Berardi fan) which is why Peroni Nastru Azzurro decided to plunder his design expertise and have him create three highly desirable, exquisitely designed objets. Three things, he says, that are everyday items ‘three things you want but you don’t have’. So, a heavy silver bottle opener that looks like art, a cagool you may well see Sienna wearing for Glasto and a laptop case sure to be toted by the sleekest city slickers.
