Strops and Stilettos 5

Instyle - Strops and Stilettos 5

It has been all go this week, we barely can tell our ears from our elbows, I tell you. ALL GO. This is because we are in the midst of the issue and it is all about finding things out STAT and getting them in and writing those pages. This also means I have barely left my desk and telephone area and so have not been to seen anybody or anything. So I am mostly bereft of jaunty things to tell you. I know I know, can you imagine? Me – stationed at a desk all day in Southwark, it does beggar belief. Quel bore. But it simply must be done.

Luckily there are all sorts of trinkets and things to amuse me in my desk area when I am chained to it.  Like hand cream. I have four different brands of hand cream: Seboni, Essie, Clarins for classic and Aveeno for severity. In my opinion there is not enough hand cream in all of London town to combat office air conditioning. I also have some Origins oil for picking me up and Darphin serum in case I break out in a sudden flurry of wrinkles or something equally dreadful. Then I have a Chanel lip palate and lipstick, because I can never decide on a colour, and my yummy Hermes Kelly Caleche perfume which I have to squirt around to make our place of work smell lovely. Then I have the book mountain. The book mountain threatens to topple over and disarm us all at every opportunity, so every now and again I have to deal with it head on and pick out those hot reads and then tell you all about it. At the moment I am perusing the new Monica Ali, but I am yet to break into it fully so shall have to further report back at a later date. Then I have some pictures to keep me amused and inspired. Currently I am being inspired by Maria Callas, Christian Louboutin and the Kings of Leon. Then there is the CD pile, pretty much just a pile of CDs. Currently I am getting my trend on with a bit of Kid British and Esser. You’ll be all over it come summer.

Speaking of which, I am working out my plan of action. All I can say at this juncture is thank heavens for summer beauty specials, we are negotiating my body contouring treatment, which is uber-necessare after a winter of bloat-nation. There is no way I’m going to be skipping across those festival fields in a playsuit without it. Let us cross all our fingers and toes that the promised svelteness materialises.
