Strops and Stilettos 3

Instyle - Strops and Stilettos 3

I am exhausted. Fashion week reared its cheeky little head and there
was no escape – although actually it has been more of a fashion mini
break since it started on Friday and has now bid adieu. Here are things
I like about fashion week: you always get a nice trendy new branded
cloth bag by Mulberry. So chic for the supermarket sweep. Mine is
purple. Then there is so much to be seen, it is all you can do to just
look, look, look, at everything and everybody. Most people wear black,
but then some people walk around in head-to-toe neon flannel pajamas
with teddy bears printed on and a giant loofa for a hat. Or you know,
something similar. My favourite thing was the Boo! jumper at Ann Sofie
Back – although her show concept did threaten to give me nightmares all
through spring  - Night of the Living Dead barely comes close. The soundtrack to Pyscho.
Ghost-white-face make-up, icy pale blue contacts. I was shaking in my
Miu Miu stiletto shoe-boots. Then I loved Twenty8Twelve for opening
their show with "Connection" by Elastica – showing your age there,
though, Millers. What else? Oh yes, lovely Stephen Jones’s party at the
V&A for the opening of his exhibition. It was mad hatter central,
and there was a sweet stand with yummy sugary things on sticks and pots
of fudge and all sorts. Liquorice ones. YUM. It is all I can do now to
power through the next few days until I can bid a retreat to the
country where I shall be mostly lying on the sofa, cuddling my small
dog and breathing in that fresh air. Otherwise who knows what will
become of me, I do still have a bad back, after all.
