Kate Bosworth loves Balmain

Instyle - Kate Bosworth loves Balmain

Question: How do you know when a fashion label is about to get catapulted to major stardom?
Answer: When Kate Bosworth books in a private appointment and gushes all about the label.

I've decided that to add to the LONG list of why Paris Fashion Week is just so fabulous (great shopping, beautiful fashion, delectable restaurants) are the amazing re-see appointments. This is when you get to have a closer look at a collection that has already hit the runway. And today, I had the privilege of catching one of my fashion crushes, Kate Bosworth, at the Balmain re-see. Already the go-to label for devastatingly cool French girls and rock chicks-in-the-know, Balmain, designed by Chrisophe Decarnin, is about to take Hollywood by storm and Kate Bosworth is leading the way.

Dressed in a black leather jacket, dark jeans, knee-high flat boots and a cross-the-body slouchy ruffled leather bag, the beautiful blonde (who is every bit as tiny as you'd expect) was heard exclaiming "so cool!" about the faded denim jacket with military accents and "amazing!" over the hibiscus-hued gown sported by Lily Donaldson in the show. Will this be her next premiere outfit? Watch this space.

Later, we headed to check out the label Kinder, designed by the ex-Versace designer of the same name, where we found a line-up of fabulous floral frocks (think slouchy cool not prissy pretty) and boucle jackets with a twist (fluorescent linings and glittering buttons). Already a hit with Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman and Uma Thurman, this is one label set to become a household name.

So it's been a really fabulous day: stunning Chanel show, a little A-list spying at Balmain and Café Ruc (every fashionista makes a beeline for this delish brasserie for sustenance during the shows, including model-of-the-moment Chanel Iman and her mum today) and a shopping trip to Vanessa Bruno, where I picked up a fab black cashmere blazer with puffed sleeves. And if that weren't enough, tomorrow is Nuit Blanche, where all the shops and restaurants in the city stay open ALL NIGHT. Midnight run to YSL, anyone?
