Alexa Chung DJs at Harrods

Last night I strapped on my best pair of heels and hit Harrods to check out the launch of Petra Ecclestones new clothing collection Form and indulge in a spot of shameless mingling with the rich and famous.
The soiree was held in an exclusively sectioned-off area in the menswear department of Harrods, and (yesss! I hoped as much) Petra had bought along a host of her celebrity chums to celebrate with her.
The shop floor by day, had been turned into luxury hotspot by night, with black curtains draped around the walls, black leather seats and bright gold Form Menswear signs in every available space (lest we forgot why we were there.) Guests were treated to endless amounts of champagne and canapés, as they browsed the range of formal, luxurious eveningwear and casual, more understated daywear, designed by the 19-year-old model.
Donning a grey toned Herve Leger bandage dress and bright purple YSL Tribute shoes, an incredibly tall Petra told In Style that she decided to create a menswear range because she thought there was a niche in the market.
Ive been so busy working the past few weeks, I barely had time to decide what to wear tonight she said with a weary smile, adding that she was delighted with the turnout at the launch party, and was really pleased with the response she was getting from guests.
The launch was quite the family affair as Petras billionaire father the king of Formula One Bernie Ecclestone (who oddly, is about half the height of his statuesque daughter), was in attendance to support Petra, along with her sister Tamara, and mother Slavica.
The now regular party scenester Princess Beatrice on her fifth night out in a row! - brought along sister Eugenie to check out the collection, which was also being closely admired by both Boris Becker and Jay Kay in the corner.
Presenter-come-model Alexa Chung was certainly enjoying herself as resident DJ for the evening, dancing and singing behind the decks at the side of the room. In Style couldnt resist going and chatting to the party girl she just looked like she was having so much fun! Dressed down in a pretty white Anderson and Lauth dress (she couldnt remember the designer name, so I had to check the label for her) the rather rosy looking Alexa was knocking back champagne and laughing over the fact that her decks and equipment werent working properly.
She told me that the whole DJ scene was something that she was relatively new to, but that she was really keen to do more of it especially at such intimate and exclusive evenings like this one.
In between dancing and singing along to her favourite 80s tunes, a friendly Alexa gossiped away with me about clothes, hair and shopping and said that she was super excited about picking up a new Chanel 2.55 bag the next day.
As I was leaving, a bubbly and somewhat intoxicated Alexa - sorry, but Im a bit tipsy! - invited me to share the bottle of whisky she had stashed away behind her DJ booth. Had I not had work the next day it wouldve been a resounding yes, but unfortunately (and very regrettably) I had to politely decline.
