Peaches Geldof parties at NY Fashion Week

Fashion weeks – a whole month dedicated to what we'll be wearing next year. But is it really all about the clothes? It's debatable. The widely-held belief is that London is really all about the parties, Paris is all about the fashion, Milan about the glitz and New York, well, it's about the celebrities.

So no surprise to see that celebutante Peaches Geldof is working the New York FW party scene for all it's worth, just two days into the proceedings. In true Peaches style, the Geldof girl has eschewed spending a romantic honeymoon lying on a sun-kissed beach whispering sweet nothings into new hubby Max Drummery's ear in favour of making appearances at NY's hottest fashion week parties. The couple kicked off with Dazed and Confused's event atop a very high roof on the West Side last night.

However after exiting the bash for a few minutes, the couple and their pals found themselves stranded on the sidewalk outside the party unable to get back in. The party had become so jam-packed it was a safety hazard and New York's fire marshals were having words with the organisers. According to one clipboard-toting door girl, there was absolutely no way anybody, not even a celebrity, was going to be allowed up to the bash. So it must've stung somewhat when a dazzlingly gorgeous Solange Knowles (with entourage) had the way cleared for her and headed straight on up to the party.

But, we hear that Peaches has bagged herself a job at hip US mag Nylon, so it may not be long before she's ruling the New York scene. Watch this space…
