Victoria Beckham - Style Icon

Victoria Beckham’s style is very up-to-the minute style-wise, and also classic at the same time. Her trademark look is high glamour, whatever the occasion.

She always wears a designer labels, favouring Marc Jacobs, Giambattista Valli and Antonio Berardi. Whatever she wears, her favourite accessory is one of her many Birkin bags.

Some of her outfits are a little questionable, and can lean towards the – dare I say it - tacky. But you have to hand it to her, she's always willing to take a fashion risk.

Prior to moving to LA Victoria Beckham declared that she was not going to change her chic style to fit in with those stars who wear flip-flops, Juicy Couture tracksuits and Ugg boots.

LA stylist Cliff Hoppus, who has worked with everyone from the contestants on American Idol to film star Rachel McAdams, said: "LA style is all about being low key. It's not about showing you have money or class, it's about making the point that you are so comfortable in yourself, that you can wear whatever you want. Real LA people know how to dress down."

"Maybe when Victoria moves here, she'll hire an LA stylist who can help her realise she is really not getting it here," says Cliff.

Low key? Victoria Beckham?

I think not. Victoria stayed true to her word and kept up her look, and one by one her celebrities have been copying her prim style.

The pob was a very popular hair-cut, which spawned many a copycat version as worn by Rihanna, Jenny McCarthy, Jenna Jameson, Katie Holmes and most recently Eva Longoria

Katie Holmes continued to mirror the style of her good friend Victoria, by ditching the dowdy look and adopting a more polished style of dress, which included copying Victoria's trademark oversized shades.

Victoria is known for her Hermes collection. In Pre-Beckham LA we were not used to seeing celebrities carrying the Hermes Birkin bag. Once Victoria arrived, however, Heidi Klum was seen carrying the same pink ostrich Birkin, Katie Holmes was spotted toting a large red Birkin while Eva Longoria was seen out and about with a pink alligator Birkin on her arm. Most recently Jennifer Lopez has been spotted with a tan alligator Birkin.

Where Victoria leads, it is clear that others follow.
