A night with the stars

Instyle - A night with the stars

There are a few big events I’ve attended that give you a glimpse of what it must be like to be a celebrity, but Elton John’s White Tie and Tiara Ball last night tops them all. Everything, but everything, is as glam as it gets.

The best thing? There’s no VIP room, because the whole thing is a VIP room, so you get to mingle with everyone: Uma Thurman, Bill Clinton, Naomi Campbell, Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Natalia Vodianova, etc etc etc. The rubber-necking potential is brilliant.

I borrowed a floor-length beaded gown from Goat, bought some new Marc Jacobs heels at lunch, got myself a fab plaited up-do and did my best to blend right in.

I chatted with Naomi in queue for the loos, shook Bill’s hand, and gave the adorably cute new couple, Agyness Deyn and new boyfriend Albert Hammond Jr, a lift back to London when they couldn’t find their car.

Keep an eye out for the full story in an upcoming issue of In Style – there’s plenty more to tell, and check out more celebrity photos here
