Liam Gallagher: Man of Romance

At an In Style shoot yesterday at Camden Town's trendy Koko club (which, in it's previous life was the legendary Camden Palais) the team were joined by a champagne swilling Nicole Appleton and Mel Blatt, who were at the venue presenting for The Hot Desk, a new music show available on your mobile. We took the opportunity to congratulate Nic on her recent Valentine's wedding to Liam Gallagher, which took place at Westminster Register Office, the same venue where the singer married first wife, Patsy Kensit, in 1997.

"We didn't tell anyone until after we'd done it," explains Nic who only called friends and family after they'd left the registry office and holed up at a nearby hotel bar. "It was so exciting when Nic called to say they were just married," laughed Mel. " Straight away, I jumped into a black cab and arrived in my jeans and Ugg boots. It was brilliant."

The bride wore a vintage number picked up in Paris a few months earlier and, apart from the bar bill - predominantly for Cristal champagne - she says the day cost "next to nothing". Just then, our eye was drawn to her ring, whose price tag we imagine to be rather a lot more then one from, say, Claire's Accessories."This," said a grinning Nicole, pointing to a penny sized twinkling solitaire diamond flanked by two ever-so-slightly smaller ones, "has been on my finger for years. After a four year engagement it was getting lonely so, Liam went off and added these other two. He designed it himself and gave it to me on the morning of our wedding as a surprise."

The wild man of rock clearly has a softer side.
