The swinging Sixties are back

Instyle - The swinging Sixties are back

Beneath a grey sky in the Jardins de Tuilerie, a riot of colour exploded from the Dior runway. This was an ode to The Graduate (or at least Galliano's slightly camp take on it). Vertiginous block heeled shoes were teamed with neat little box skirts and tiny swing jackets in fondant fancy colours. The eyes were heavily made up in black and white and hair was back-combed to the max. As befitted the clientele in the first few rows, these are serious clothes for a 5-star lifestyle - mere mortals need not bother. However, some of the column dresses with heavy beading on cuffs and hems will make divine red carpet appearances. Next up Isabel Marant, the quirky queen of the left bank and In Styler favourite.
