Milan Fashion Week Day 1

Most fashion journalists will tell you that Milan Fashion Week is the worst of all the cities. Not because of the clothes, you understand, but due to the relentless schedule, the crazy traffic and pushy, aggressive Italians (I feel I can say this honestly, being Italian myself). This time I'm determined not to let all that get to me and to look my most fabulous: I've packed a trunk of clothes for all eventualities, from freak flash floods to a sudden tropical heat wave and I've brought enough vitamin C to cure scurvy.
So far so good. I spy Alexa Chung checking in alongside me at the hotel, I have a Miu Miu shopping trip planned with my colleagues and I have four fabulous shows to take in: Just Cavalli, Emporio Armani, Missoni and Moschino Cheap and Chic. And guess what? The Seventies are back in a big way. The trend that begun in the spring/summer season with floral jumpsuits and stacked heels carries on with flared trousers, earth tones and floppy fedoras. My favourite show so far is Missoni: chic, understated, soft and sensual, I picture myself wearing each and every one of the outfits and I like what I see.
